Regular dental and oral check-ups are important to prevent and to treat problems in the mouth. Proper dental care routines at home, as well as regular dental check-ups, lay the foundations for good oral and dental health. It’s recommended to have your teeth checked once a year, as cavities can emerge without any symptoms.

Our dental clinics offer a comprehensive range of general dental care services, including check-ups, fillings, root canal treatments, gum disease examinations and dentures.

We invite our patients for annual check-ups, always with the same primary dentist. Your primary dentist is familiar with your history and acts as a coordinator to guide and monitor your overall treatment. In addition to your teeth, the dentist will examine the oral mucosa, the general functioning of the teeth, and your gums. Should more complex procedures or treatments be needed, we will refer you to a specialist dentist.

It is a good idea to have your teeth thoroughly cleaned by an oral hygienist at regular intervals. Oral hygienists specialise in cleaning teeth and preventive care, including the removal of tartar, treatment of gingivitis and teeth whitening. On a referral from a dentist, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, Kela, will reimburse part of the cost of a visit to an oral hygienist.

Dental check-up

Regular dental and oral check-ups can prevent different kinds of dental problems. The earlier problems are detected, the easier and cheaper it is to treat them.

In addition to your teeth, the dentist will examine the oral mucosa, the general functioning of the teeth, and your gums. If necessary, we will refer you to a specialist dentist. A clinical examination by the dentist can be supplemented by X-ray imaging. X-rays are taken to rule out hidden issues, such as asymptomatic infections of the tooth root.

Based on the examination by the dentist, your condition and other needs, a personalised treatment plan will be drawn up. You’ll also get a cost estimate for your treatment.
Since 1 January 2015, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, Kela, reimburses a basic dental examination only once every two years, in contrast to the previous annual reimbursement. However, should the patient’s condition require annual dental check-ups, annual visits may be reimbursed.

Tooth filling

The most common reason for tooth filling is advanced caries. The decayed tooth tissue must be removed and replaced with a filling. Increasingly, tooth fillings are also used due to chipping of old fillings, tooth wear and enamel loss.

A dental filling is painless when using local anaesthesia. A filling can be selected from different options, such as composite resin, ceramic (porcelain) and CEREC. The appropriate restorative material is chosen according to the situation and taking into account the colour of the tooth, bite stress, price and the time required for treatment.

Using the CEREC technology, ceramic fillings and crowns can be produced in one visit. CEREC is a highly computer-guided 3D system (CAD/CAM technology) that allows the dentist to quickly restore teeth to their natural appearance. After a scan is performed in the patient’s mouth, the dentist can design the three-dimensional filling on a computer screen. CEREC technology provides a more durable and aesthetically pleasing result compared to traditional filling materials.

Cerec technology

CEREC technology gives quick results that last for a long time. CEREC is ideal for those who want to preserve the original colour of their teeth, as an alternative to amalgam or gold. With CEREC, a restoration can be done in one visit; impressions, temporary fillings and long waits will not be needed.

Using CEREC, a damaged tooth can be repaired with a ceramic filling or surface matching your tooth exactly, all in a single visit. No substances are released from the ceramic filling, nor does it cause allergy.

You deserve the best!

  • CEREC is a biological, highly durable ceramic material
  • Aesthetic – keeps teeth looking natural
  • Quick and easy – one visit is enough!
  • Ceramic fillings look and feels like your own teeth

Fillings: The old filling and the damaged part of the tooth are removed. The individually manufactured filling fits precisely.

Crowns: The production of a traditional crown often requires two visits in the same day. With CEREC, it’s usually possible to perform the whole procedure in one day. No impressions or temporary crowns are needed.

Veneers: Misalignment and discolouration of teeth can be treated with veneers. The surface of the tooth is ground, and a thin layer of porcelain is attached to the tooth. Excellent stability and fit.
